That’s right. I’m a concept artist as well as a web designer. I already have plenty of web work but am interested in contract work for design projects requiring a competent concept artist.

Me and my Training

My specialty is character design. I prefer to work in a kind of Canadian Anime style, or a simple graffiti cartoon style. However, I’m capable of working in pretty much any style that could be needed.
These are my credentials:

Education

Vancouver Film School

At VFS I completed the one year classical animation program. These are some of the things I did there:

• Many hours of life drawing
• courses in character design, background design, color theory, perspective and composition.
• Animation principles and concepts. Walk Cycle, lip sync, etc.
• Story boarding and layout
• Completion of my first student film. A 2 minute animated short.

Multimedia Production and Design

In Selkirk College’s Multimedia Production and Design Program I’ve had a chance to learn all of the following skills that have helped me to market my skills as something other than a professional 2-D animator:

• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Comfortable working in Premeire, After Effects, Audition, Sound Forge, and other Video production software.
• Web design skills including XHTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP/MySQL, Flash, Director, Dreamweaver, etc.
• Photography and Videography principles and camera work
• General Design - Branding, Page layout, Logo Design, Color and Typography
• Experience working in Lightwave  - 3-D modeling and animation

Currently Employed

I currently work with the Canadian Society for Social Development as their web developer. I intend to keep working with CSSD: on their projects but am interested in branching out a little so that I can work part of the time as an artist.
The following are some of the roles and responsibilities that I fill for CSSD:

• Web site design and maintenance
• Content Management System development and upgrades
• User Management
• Structure and Deliver large amounts of content
• Produce print advertisements, brochures, logos, and stationary
• Deliver all of the above in nice neat semantic and highly accessible package
