My Canada Day

I have to admit… I’m a huge geek, and not much of a patriot. Rather than getting out and partying it up on Canada Day this year I felt that I had just one chance to finally finish something I’ve been working on for a while. This! Finally after a month of development and then another 2 weeks of postponement and procrastination, this awesome Wordpress based version of bamboostudios.com is ready to rock!

For those that would occasionally visit my site in the past

You have probably noticed that a few things have changed around here. You might be wondering where all the artwork went… or why some of it is here, but most is not… Well, the truth is that I really wanted all that stuff properly syndicated in the first place, so I am republishing it with new dates. This applies to all the posts that had no comments on them (which was most of them). Posts that did have comments have mostly all been republished with the original date and author comments. You might also wondering where all the Graffiti on Records has gone; if so, you should check out Catchwreck.com.

Why did you do this?

Well, because Wordpress rocks son, havn’t ya heard?

Ok, so maybe you know that but were thinking that the custom system I had was working/looking pretty good and yes, that’s true. I thought it was pretty good… and for simple publishing it was not bad. But as far as syndicating your content on that system, forget about it. Integrating a simple system like that with all the myriad of new webservices, I decided, is a headache that I didn’t have time for. Yeah, wordpress was a bit of a shortcut for me, but considering what I’ve done with it I’m pretty proud of what I accomplished not starting from scratch. I actually took about a month or so of my spare time to learn the ins and outs of advanced wordpress usage. You may want to know more about how or what I did with wordpress, but this is no longer the site for that as I’m working on a new project for publishing articles and thoughts relating to web design… this is not the place for it.

Anyway, that’s about all I have for now. (oh and YES, I know this sucker is not validating right now… This sucker IS validating now; and Strict at that!)
Cheers,

Until next time.
